Daikin Emura: where technology meets designDaikin, the specialist in air conditioning systems, presents the perfect combination of style and functionality: Daikin Emura – a remarkable blend of elegant design and state-of-the-art technology.
Daikin Europe started the product development of a completely new air conditioning system for living rooms some years ago in order to strengthen Daikin’s position in the segment of design-oriented room air conditioners. The result, presented in early 2010, is truly impressive: The wall-mounted unit is innovative in shape, presenting high-class materials, an extraordinary finishing quality, and a remarkable energy saving technology. Daikin Emura is the first Daikin Split series designed and produced in Europe.
Three innovative features lead to a remarkable decrease of power consumption. The intelligent eye sensor detects whether someone is in the room. If the room is empty for 20 minutes, the unit goes into standby mode, which means that the consumption is reduced by about 80%. The unit restarts its normal operation when a person enters the room. The second function called Econo Mode enables energy-efficient operation by limiting the power consumption. This feature avoids the risk of electrical overloads when other home appliances are in use at the same time.
Last but not least the weekly timer allows programming the unit’s operation on a weekly basis. Different settings can be defined for each day of the week. The programming is simply done by the new stylish-looking remote controller. In this way, the end-user can adapt the functioning of the unit according to his needs and habits.
These clever features help Daikin Emura to reach A-Label for energy efficiency for all available pair indoor models (COP up to 4,36 and EER up to 4,46).
When in heating mode, Daikin Emura uses a renewable energy source – air – and therefore is more energy-efficient than fossil fuel based heating. Thus, by reducing CO2 emissions, Daikin heat pumps contribute to preserving our environment.
Daikin Emura uses inverter technology, which varies the speed of the heat pump’s compressor – the engine of the unit – and uses only the amount of energy needed to heat or cool a room. Thus, unnecessary energy-consuming starts and stops are avoided. Besides providing more stable temperatures, this technology yields energy savings up to 30% over non-inverter systems and reduces the start-up time of the unit by a third.
The wall-mounted indoor units of Daikin Emura will be available in two different versions: with a sandblasted aluminium casing and a white, mat plastic casing.
Emphasizing the fact that design is a decisive factor in terms of market success and value creation and as a consequence of this perfect combination of leading-edge technology and elegant design, Daikin Emura has already won an iF product design award 2010 in the category "Buildings". 25/01/2010 |
