Komatsu Europe International Launches New PC240LC-11 Hydraulic Excavator

Komatsu Europe International Launches New PC240LC-11 Hydraulic Excavator

Komatsu Europe International N.V. introduces the PC240LC-11 hydraulic excavator to the European market. This new excavator further leverages Komatsus leadership in technology and innovation with a more environmentally friendly EU Stage IV Komatsu engine, up to 6% improved fuel efficiency, an upgraded cab design, and enhanced serviceability. Productivity is maximized and operating costs are reduced.
Built on a solid foundation initiated in 1996 with the introduction of the first Komatsu Tier 1 engine, Komatsus EU Stage IV engines are productive, dependable and efficient. The PC240LC-11 maintains the powerful lifting performance and stability of previous Komatsu models, with a net 141 kW (189 HP) @ 2.000 rpm and operating weights between 24.700 kg and 26.200 kg.
The PC240LC-11 is equipped with the latest KOMTRAX remote monitoring technology with data access via the web or via KOMTRAX Mobile on your smart phone. In addition to providing data such as fuel levels, operating hours, location, cautions and maintenance alerts, KOMTRAX is further enhanced to monitor AdBlue® levels and KDPF regeneration and now also provides fuel theft alerts. A new Operator Identification System reports key operating information for multiple operators and the new Auto Idle Shutdown function helps to lower operating costs.
All Komatsu Stage IV machines come with Komatsu CARE®, a complimentary maintenance program for Komatsu customers. For the first three years or 2.000 hours it covers factory-scheduled maintenance, performed by Komatsu-trained technicians with Komatsu Genuine parts. Komatsu CARE® offers up to a maximum of 2 complimentary Komatsu Diesel Particulate Filter (KDPF) exchanges and a KDPF warranty for the first 5 years or 9.000 hours. Customer peace of mind is further guaranteed by Komatsu with a 5 years or 9,000 hours warranty on the SCR body.
The Komatsu EU Stage IV engine integrates Selective Catalyst Reduction (SCR), to further reduce NOx emissions using the AdBlue® additive. With an advanced electronic control system that manages the air-flow rate, fuel injection, combustion parameters and after treatment functions, the Komatsu EU Stage IV engine optimizes performance, reduces emissions, and provides advanced diagnostic capability. Customers benefit from lower fuel consumption with no loss of performance. Komatsu continues to use a Komatsu Variable Geometry Turbocharger (KVGT) and an Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve for precise temperature and air management control and for longer component life.
To ensure product reliability and durability in demanding conditions, Komatsu developed the entire system, including the control software, which is critical to the effective operation of the after treatment system. This control system is also integrated into the machines on-board diagnostics systems and in KOMTRAX, Komatsus telematics system.
All major components on the new PC240LC-11 including the engine, hydraulic pumps, motors, and valves are exclusively designed and produced by Komatsu.
The PC240LC-11 cab provides a comfortable and quiet work environment that helps operators maximize productivity. Proportional control joysticks are fitted as standard for the precise operation of attachments. The ROPS certified cab, specifically designed for hydraulic excavators, gains strength from a reinforced box structure framework. The cab is mounted on viscous isolation dampers for low vibration levels. A Neutral Detection System further improves safety: if the work equipment levers are not in a neutral position when the lock lever is released, the machine is prevented from any movement.
A high-resolution 7' LCD colour monitor features enhanced capabilities and shows information on AdBlue® fluid level, Eco guidance, operational records, fuel consumption history and utilization data. Text can be displayed in 25 languages for global support. The standard rear-view camera gives a wide landscape view of the area directly behind the machine, and the new monitor panels default screen shows the camera image as well as gauges. An optional second camera is available. The enhanced diagnostic features of Komatsus exclusive EMMS (Equipment Management Monitoring System) on the PC240LC-11 give the operator and technicians greater monitoring and troubleshooting capabilities.
