Ahlmann's New Articulated Loader Concept

Into the Future with ASAP, APSC and ASSC!

At the bauma 2007, Ahlmann showcases the extremely compact and stylish new "AX" series of articulated loaders. The new product range of compact articulated loaders, consequently tailored to optimum functionality and customer value, comprises three vehicle types with standard buckets of 0.70 m3, 0.85 m3 and 1.0 m3 capacity.

The product range was specially designed from scratch for rental fleets, construction (structural engineering, underground engineering, road work) as well as for horticulture and landscaping. The development objective was a high product quality making for a long service life, low operational costs, simplest operation, and a high resale value at a competitive product price.

What strikes you first is the new ASAP monoboom (Ahlmann Single Arm Power). High tearing forces paired with fast tipping cycles and an unrivalled view on the attachments were decisive factors for the production start of the new boom concept.

The monoboom incorporates the new Z-kinematics utility model. It allows for perfect parallel guidance of attachments, thus providing a high degree of safety, in particular when loading pallets. The tipping cylinder, installed inside the boom, is protected against external influences such as stone strike or atmospheric conditions. 2 lifting cylinders give the monoboom the additional amount of stability needed for rough professional use. Its dumping height of 2,500 mm at a reach of 700 mm also allows for easy loading of trucks with high sideboards. A load-lifting eye integrated in the quick-change device lets you easily and safely transport loads without having to attach an additional lifting hook.

The stylish and compact rear end ensures an unobstructed rear view. Particular importance was attached to the cabin's comfort and clearness. The newly developed Ahlmann Panorama Space Cab (APSC) perfectly meets these requirements. Even shorter drivers easily and safely enter and leave the cabin via the single step tread. Even to the most demanding driver, the spacious cabin offers an ergonomic workplace for long-term work. Large tinted glass panes ensure an excellent all-round vision. The panorama roof allows for an exact overhead view, for example for truck loading. The functional joystick provides for easy, fatigue-free operation. A multi-position comfort swivel seat, generous oddment trays, ample storage space and a powerful 3-stage ventilation and heating system make daily work a pleasure. The optionally available air condition and air-cushioned driver's seat further enhance the comfort for the driver.
All machines feature a remarkably low height of less than 2.47 m, making them ideal for low headroom environments. The loader can also be easily transported on a roll vehicle. And if you need an even lower vehicle: the cabin top of all vehicles dismounts in less than 15 minutes.

Ahlmann also broke new grounds with regard to the engine concept for the new series. All vehicles feature smooth-running 4-cylinder diesel engines. The engine power ranges from 62 to 67 hp. They feature low fuel consumption and long maintenance intervals. A hydraulically controlled blower drive ensures low-noise operation. The standard version of all models is running 20 km/h, the optional fast vehicle 30 km/h. All maintenance points are easily accessible.

As the exhaust points to the ground, the view to the rear remains unobstructed and the driver is not molested by noise and heat. The exhaust can also extend above the roof if desired or if the vehicle is equipped with a particle filter.

The selected components also reflect the products' quality. The structural steelwork (chassis, bucket arm) is manufactured in line with the highest quality standards at the Ahlmann premises in B?delsdorf (Germany). For engine, traction drive, axles, steering and hydraulics, we exclusively use branded components from west European suppliers.

Ahlmann will never compromise with regard to driving and working safety of the new series. The Ahlmann Self Stabilizing Concept (ASSC) accounts for these requirements. The established self-stabilising Ahlmann articulated pendulum joint was further enhanced and thus sets new stability standards in the range of compact articulated loaders. The specially matched full differential lock in the front and rear axles that can be engaged if desired ensures unconditional traction of all wheels, even when working on rough ground. An optional lifting suspension can be implemented, allowing to cover longer distances on rough ground without compromising speed.

Another striking feature of the new monoboom is its quick-change device compatibility. Next to the standard Ahlmann Kat-II-Z hydraulic change device we can offer any other quick-change device available on the market if the customer so desires.

Apart from standard bucket, multi-purpose bucket and pallet fork, you can, of course, also mount other hydraulic attachments such as high tip bucket, plate compactor, rotary brush, and much more.
