Terex and Volvo sign up for IRE

The latest big names to book their places at the International Rental Exhibition (IRE) are Terex Construction and Volvo Construction Equipment, who join the almost 60 other suppliers who are attending the show in Amsterdam on 7-9 June. Other exhibitors include Atlas Copco, Ditch Witch, Godwin Pumps, Haulotte Group, Hilti, Manitou, Result Group, Thwaites Dumpers, Vermeer, Wacker Neuson, Wynne Systems and Yanmar CE.

Exhibitors will show an enormous range of tools, equipment and technology, all targeted at rental companies, including: compact earthmoving equipment, power tools/hand-held tools, pumps, generators, compressors and rental software systems. (For an up-to-date list of the exhibitors, see the show website.) In addition to the trade exhibition, visitors can register to attend the European Rental Associations (ERA) annual convention, which takes place at the same venue on the same three days. The conference which is open to both ERA members and non-members - includes seminars, expert presentations and workshops covering almost every aspect of the rental market. Topics include equipment end of life strategies; developments in rental IT; the place of family-owned rental companies; the impact of social networks on rental marketing strategies; and a special round-table discussion on the relationship between manufacturers and rental companies.

The convention is open to everyone, and everyone can find something of value, said Gérard Déprez, president of the ERA, It is the ideal opportunity to take the temperature of the rental market as it comes out of the crisis: what is new; what has changed.

Mr Déprez emphasises the benefits to all rental companies not just ERA members of attending the convention and the IRE show. My advice is not to come alone bring colleagues with you. Afterwards you can discuss the convention with your colleagues, share ideas and get a different point of view.
