Atlas Copco introduces a new generation of LP 18 power packs

The 2010 generation power packs have a new design, where the top cover protects the engine well. It can easily be opened to reach the hydraulic parts as well as the air and oil filters when they need to be changed. All controls and connections are placed on the front panel, giving the operator easy access.
Atlas Copco offers a wide range of compact, portable petrol or diesel driven power packs ranging from 9 to 18 hp, and electric power packs ranging between 5 and 11 kW. The 2010 generation of power packs, starting with the introduction of the petrol driven LP 18-30 PE and LP 18-40 PE, are the ideal power source for a wide range of applications in the 20-40 lpm range. Two new electric driven power packs are also added to the range – LP 18-30 E and LP 18-40 E, ideal for indoor applications.
“As all moving parts of the power pack work in a closed, lubricated circuit, wear is very low,” says Jan Byrresen, Product Line Manager for handheld hydraulic equipment. He continues: “The easy access for checking and servicing the power pack also minimizes maintenance times.”
The power packs have an electric and recoil start system and feature a thermostatically-controlled oil cooler, allowing quick warm-ups which helps protect the hydraulic oil from overheating. The large front mounted cooler and air fan give efficient cooling of both the hydraulic system and the engine in warmer climate conditions.
Light and compact, the power packs are easy to store and transport. A strong frame, large wheels and foldable handles give easy transport and enable use on tough work sites. The power packs are equipped with flat-face, quick-release couplings for easy and fast connections to the tools.
