Less weight, more pace and ideally suited for ground rods: The new Atlas Copco LPD-LD post driver
27.08.2012
The low service weight of less than 18 kg represents just one of numerous assets, the LPD-LD post driver offers to road, fencing and installation contractors, landscapers or any other power line utility company or rental business.
Based on a proven impact mechanism, the LPD-LD combines high frequency with outstanding hitting power, as the given frequency reduces the damage on the rod's top. The constantly effective moves which distinguish the LPD-LD are best qualified to drive ground rods, anchors, spikes and steel tubes up to 65 mm straight into almost any ground condition.
The low weight for easy lift and operation and the build-in easy start function - simply pressing down the double-sided handles - make the LPD-LD a one man operated driver tool of choice, operating with maximum power on 20 lpm (flows).
The LPD-LD accepts rods or posts from 10 - 65 mm and a wide range of adaptors can be replaced by the operator within minutes: Simply sliding out the pins and adaptor, then replacing them with standard bushings, covering 12 - 25 mm ground rods, the most common diameters, or driver heads (50 - 62 mm) - and the LPD-LD is prepared for substantial driving operations, as a ground rod, a fence stake, a pole or a tube driver.
Adaptor bushings for 16 mm and 25 mm rods, as well as for 55 - 62 mm pipes or poles are available as standard accessory.
When fitted with the 16 or 25mm bushings the LPD-LD turns into a dedicated ground rod driver. The integrated anvil strikes directly on top of the ground rod and with PTFE bushings damage on the ground rods' zinc or cobber surfaces is minimised for optimum connection of next rod.
While hitting directly on the tops of rods, anchors and else, the integrated anvil strikes on the larger drive adaptors when fitted, with the same power and accuracy.
Along with the new LPD-LD the Atlas Copco post driver line is now covering five models, up to a 40-kg-weight, to cover any handheld or crane lifted driving job from 10 - 150 mm poles, steel rods or profiles.
