New medium-size hydraulic breaker: a simple design for a lot of power

With the MB 1500 Atlas Copco are completing their range of medium-size hydraulic breakers

As they were developing the MB 1500, the Essen-based designers rejected everything that was not needed and came up with a straightforward product requiring practically no maintenance. The breaker operates without a high-pressure accumulator, substantially reducing the number of moving components. But essential and clever details such as the StartSelect allowing the start-up and shutdown behaviour of the breaker to be adapted to the specific application characteristics, or the AutoControl ensuring maximum percussion power under all operating conditions, have been included.

The MB 1500 features a single-blow energy of 3000 Joule (AEM) and achieves an enormous efficiency thanks to the energy recovery.

Its robust and extremely sturdy design turns the breaker into a universally applicable tool for demolition, trenching or quarrying jobs. The shape makes the MB 1500 extremely versatile and manoeuvrable - not only in cramped spaces.

The MB 1500 joins the medium-size range of Atlas Copco hydraulic breakers and is the appropriate supplement for the MB 1200 with its 1200 kg service weight and for the MB 1700 with its 1700 kg service weight. "Power, reliability and a low maintenance expenditure were the benchmarks for the designers who developed the MB 1500. A product has evolved which is distinguished by its versatile application, its slim design and its extremely high efficiency," Torsten Treger, Product Line Manager Medium & Heavy Breakers, explains.

The experience gained under operating conditions is positive: "The MB 1500 simply does a great job! It is extremely manoeuvrable and hits like a big one. Simply powerful!", says site manager Thomas Busch of Ruppert GmbH & Co. KG.
